Testimonials

Here's what others are saying about Red Apple:

"I have improved six times better than when I started. It helped me read faster and better. I really enjoy being here. My favorite subject to do is read books. Thank you very much!!!"

Gabriel Delerme

"All of my life I thought I was "L.D.", and would never be able to read very well. It was a very frustrating feeling not to be able to help my children with their homework. Since I have been coming...my reading comprehension has noticeably increased and the length of time that I can read without getting fatigued has at least doubled. This experience has given me the courage to believe that I can go to college."

Chris Ciccarelli

"I can read better and spell more words. He helped me get better grades because I can read better. My homework used to take 4 hours every night. Now I can do it by myself a lot faster."

Quinn Bisbey

"I have noticed that my reading has been very much changed. All my relatives said that reading is such a relaxing hobby. But I always told them that it really wasn't fun because I couldn't do it well. Now after my treatment it is fun to read because it is so much easier."

Jim Schollaert

"I'm in the sixth grade and this is the first time I really enjoy reading and really understand what I read. My reading grade came up from a C to an A and I got an award during Catholic Schools Week for most improved student!"

Dr. Falbo and staff:

It seems hard to believe that six months ago today we brought Todd in for testing. I remember looking around the office, seeing all the “success letters” and hoping that someday there would be one more. That it would be ours.

We had known for some time that Todd had a reading problem. Coming from a college town, there were always plenty of tutors, plenty of help. Nothing ever showed results. Through friends we heard about Red Apple. To tell you the truth it was our last hope.

A few nights ago, Todd was reading a passage to me in his science book, from in another room. It was absolutely amazing! All I could say was WOW! When I looked up I saw his older sister standing there giving him a huge hug! The next thing his dad came in the room. We were all so proud of his wonderful accomplishment. To say thank you seems so little for a staff that has done so much.

We feel this is the best money we have ever spent. It is wonderful to hear Todd say that he just knows how to read. He no longer has to figure it out. I think many people feel that reading problems will just go away. Believe me, they don’t. You have to find out what the problem is before you can fix it. That’s what Red Apple has done for us.

Thank you all,

The Goble Family

"Completing therapy has completely changed Peter’s outlook and attitude. And the school year has shown dramatic changes…report card shows 4 A’s and 2 B’s with one of the A’s in Reading and Reading Level at 97%. Note on the bottom – Reads with Understanding is above average. WE are sincerely grateful to Dr. Falbo and his wonderful staff for their skills, kindness and patience. Their endeavors will help allow Peter to be all he can be."

Dear Dr. Falbo and Staff,

It’s hard for me to believe that seven and a half months have passed and Thomas has made such tremendous strides in reading. I can honestly say that you were my last resort.

I felt that if your testing didn’t find any problem with Thomas’ reading it would be in God’s hands from this point forward. As I sat and watched Thomas last August being assessed by you, it broke my heart. Thomas was a fifteen-year old young man taller than six foot but unable to complete the reading tasks of a child half his size. I felt a mix of emotions, sadness, frustration, anger, and finally resolve. How could a kid that works hard continue to spin his wheels without moving forward? Why wasn’t his hard work in school paying off? Now things have become much clearer.

You and your staff have given him the skills and the confidence to read out loud, to feel like the other kids his age without fear of ridicule or finger pointing. My husband and I were amazed at how fluent he now reads. He pronounces words that prior to Red Apple were like a foreign language to him.

We can’t begin to thank you for being there for Thomas and the many other kids. With your help, encouragement, and skill building you have taken our insecure teenager and given him a fighting chance academically. We will always be grateful.

Sincerely,

Mary Anne McMullen

Dear Dr. Falbo,

I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for spending the time and interest necessary for Lori and I to understand the benefits of the Red Apple Reading Center. The success after just several weeks, of our children’s improvement with comprehension, reading, articulating and willingness to learn and read more has been overwhelming. I really appreciate your care and attention to detail on your outstanding program. This is a phenomenal project that you are doing. You and your staff should be commended for such efforts.

Recently, I was very surprised on the way home from picking up our children from the reading center. I had given them our plan of action that we were going to do for the evening, like I typically do everyday, which included getting a shower, putting on their night clothes, having a snack and getting ready for bed. Much to my surprise, my youngest son, Matthew, age 7, said to me, “Dad, I have a great idea! Let’s get a shower, have a snack and read for a while before we go to bed.” I was so shocked at his comment that I turned around while I was driving and asked him to “say that again”. He repeated himself in saying that he wanted to read when he got home. The reason that I found this so unexpectedly overwhelming is that he was having a mild amount of trouble with his willingness to read. Sometime frustration and upset would occur. When it was his recommendation that we read, I knew we had made it. I want to thank you so very much for giving such a wonderful gift to our family. You are the greatest!

Yours for Better Health,

Dr. Maurice A. Pisciottano
